Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Purchase To Pay (PTP) NL - Sanoma

The position of Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Purchase To Pay (PTP) NL (100%) is part of the Dutch local retained FSS organization and reports to the Global Process Owner (GPO) & Team Lead PTP. You act as sparring partner for the GPO. Together with the GPO and the other local team members (both in Belgium,  Netherlands and Finland) you are responsible for realizing an effective and efficient center of expertise serving the needs of Sanoma BUs as well as Sanoma Corporation.

THE KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES ARE:

  • Expert in transactional finance within PTP (for Netherlands).
  • Responsible for general support of in the PTP process
  • Coordinating PTP related matters with the Service Provider.
  • Responsible for supporting PTP GPO to improve and develop the PTP process
  • Strong influence in PTP related projects
  • Provide support in relation to escalated invoice mismatches and issue resolution in vendor payments.
  • Implement and support the development of PTP policies and rules.
  • Validate that internal controls are implemented and operational.
  • Responsible for the PTP close and support intercompany reconciliation.
  • Helpdesk role for local PTP issues
  • Testing and handover of new PTP processes with Business Provider
  • Sparring partner / Linking Pin for the business units
  • Contact person towards offshore PTP team
  • Responsible for the company credit card management

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or capacity is preferred
  • Being able to work independently and individually
  • Proactive approach, taking initiative, taking responsibilities
  • Problem solving, result driven and analytical
  • Well documented and proven knowledge of transactional finance, including tax rules
  • Public speaking, able to give training and presentations to broader audience
  • Experienced with general ledger accounting
  • Knowledge of the PTP process (and OTC & RTR processes)
  • Knowledge with finance systems
  • Knowledge of e-invoicing systems & processes
  • Knowledge of travel & expense claims processes

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree or similar knowledge through experience with similar tasks and responsibilities in a financial accounting department in an international company. The candidate has a process approach and is a good communicator, able to build bridges between people and departments and displays a can-do approach, being able to think in solutions instead of problems. Open minded team player with a focus on providing quality services to all stakeholders, taking ownership of processes. Feels comfortable in a changing environment. Sanoma as a Group is in a transformation phase, the Finance Control CoE is part of this transformation and therefore requires team players that can embrace the change and are also able to motivate and stimulate colleagues to join this journey.

Candidates must be fluent in English and Dutch. Experience in SAP preferable, but not required.

LOCATION:

The position of SME PTP NL will be based in Hoofddorp. Occasionally travelling will be part of the job.
